For the Ecoscope exhibition at the Academie Galerie I made some one of a kind business cards for visitors to take with them. I thought there would still be alot of them left when the exhibition ended, but they had run out! Chaotic as I am, I forgot to make a picture of them! Fortunately, I still had one splinter of porcelain left at home to make a picture...So here it is..

About a week ago I received an email from the production team of the Paul O'Grady show....

Hi Marieka,

I hope you are well. I am currently working on the second series of Paul O’Grady Live which is airing on Fridays at 9pm on ITV. Next week we will be recording a special episode of the show with Lady Gaga in which she will be performing a number of songs and conducting an interview also. As I’m sure you know Lady Gaga is a hug fan of unusual shoes and it is for this reason that I am contacting you today. We would really love to give her a gift from the production team to thank her for coming on the show and giving us so much of her time and I hoped that you might be able to help us out with it. Do you think you would be interested in gifting her an item from your collection? This would be a fantastic marketing opportunity as Lady Gaga is rarely seen out of fantastic shoes!

'bungler'

In Egoscope presenteren de derdejaars modestudenten de projecten waaraan ze het afgelopen half jaar hebben gewerkt. Zowel degenen die Fashion Design studeren, als de studenten Fashion Communication, sluiten met deze tentoonstelling een periode af die zich heeft gekenmerkt door een zoektocht naar hun identiteit als vormgever. Deze persoonlijke zoektochten resulteren in een veelheid aan uitingen: van bijzondere, draagbare kledingontwerpen tot ontwerpen die bewust de grens opzoeken tussen draagbaarheid en autonoom object.
Naast het tonen van eindproducten ligt er in de presentatie een belangrijke nadruk op de verbeelding van het creatieve proces in de vorm van materiaal-, beeld- en ideeënonderzoek.
Een deel van de presentatie zal plaatsvinden in het Designer Café, op een steenworp afstand van de Academiegalerie.

My Favourite Shoes is een initiatief van Rena Breed.

Schoenen maken of breken je outfit en dus ben ik altijd op zoek naar dat ene unieke en als het even kan betaalbare paar. Stijl en vakmanschap zijn keiharde criteria. Schoeisel dat daar niet aan voldoet laat ik links liggen. Ik vind het interessant om meer te weten te komen over ontwerpers en hun inspiratiebronnen. Modische ecologische schoenen hebben mijn bijzondere aandacht als ook kunstenaars en ontwerpers die zich laten inspireren door schoenen.
